THE PROJECT: South Korean Newsletter Collaboration

HOW AN ITALIAN NOMAD’S PERSPECTIVE BROUGHT ASIA TO LIFE

A Korean friend asked me to write for his newsletter.
I said yes. And I became a real writer.

The Challenge:

A Korean journalist friend wanted to show Asia from a different perspective: not through typical travel content, but through the eyes of someone who actually lives here.

The Goal:

  • Show Asia through an Italian nomad’s perspective
  • Combine photography with personal narrative
  • Offer readers something beyond generic travel content
  • Share the human side of 15 years in Asia

The Approach/Process:

I didn’t overthink it. I looked at my old photos and remembered the stories connected. This is still how I work today.

What I Delivered:

  • Long-form personal essays (600-800 words each)
  • Some documentary photographs from my 15-year archive related to the text
  • Stories rooted in lived experience, and observation
  • Weekly delivery, consistent quality
  • An Italian nomad’s voice: honest, reflective, human

The Results:

What started as a favour to a friend became the foundation of my professional storytelling practice

Outcomes:

  • Published consistently over few months/years
  • Readers responded to the authentic perspective
  • I discovered my voice as a writer (not just photographer/blogger)
  • This collaboration proved I could deliver for an audience
  • Led to the confidence to publish my book

THE PROJECT: Published Book - Nomadic Perceptions

15 YEARS OF ASIA. 100+ PHOTOGRAPHS. ONE COHESIVE STORY.

This book is a collection of images and a proof that I can execute large-scale storytelling
from start to finish.

The Challenge:

Capture 15 years of Asian travel into a strong visual and narrative experience, without reducing complex cultures to stereotypes or postcard imagery.

The Goal:

  • Create something lasting, not disposable
  • Honor the dignity of people and places
  • Show Asia beyond tourist clichés
  • Prove that photography + text create deep meaning

The Approach/Process:

I curated 100+ photographs from my 15-year archive adding long-form narrative essays based on the experiences that resonated with me most.

What I Delivered:

  • 100+ original documentary photographs
  • 15+ long-form narrative essays
  • Cohesive visual and narrative identity throughout
  • Consistent tone: slow observation, human focus
  • Published book available worldwide

The Results

The book stands as tangible proof of my capabilities.

Outcomes:

  • Published and available worldwide
  • Demonstrates ability to execute large-scale projects
  • Proof of integrated photo + text storytelling
  • Validates 15 years of on-the-ground presence in Asia
  • Opens doors to collaborations with brands who value depth

“You mentioned that you only recently began practicing writing, but with over 15 years of travel experience, it feels like your practice actually started long ago, on the road.”

“Your writing is deeply emotional, capturing the perspective of a true traveler and nomad.”

CONCEPT PROJECT:  Boutique Tour Operator Framework

Not a real client — demonstrates strategic process

How a New York Tour Operator Transformed Generic Tours into High-Value Experiences.

See how authentic storytelling and on-the-ground can turn generic Vietnam tours into immersive, engaging experiences.

The Challenge:

A boutique tour operator based in New York offered 10–14 day cultural tours in Vietnam, priced at $5k–$10k. Despite their unique offerings, their online presence looked like every other tour company.

The Problems:

  • Tours looked like every other operator online
  • Generic content that failed to convey the depth of the experience
  • Low-quality leads, travelers not aligned with the experience
  • Constant price competition

The Approach:

We repositioned the brand by focusing on authentic storytelling and immersive visuals. Captured local moments: street markets, artisans, and interactions that reveal “real Vietnam” Integrated narrative storytelling with visuals: Photos are combined with narrative to reveal a story, conveying context, emotion, and experience Leveraged first-hand experience: knowing which moments resonate with foreigner travellers seeking authenticity

The Results:

The transformation was both measurable and emotional. Quantitative Results: Social media engagement increased (likes, shares, comments, inquiries). Higher-quality leads for tours. Qualitative Results: Travelers perceived the tours as authentic and immersive. The operator could attract curious, high-value clients without competing on price.

“For the first time, travelers understood the experience before booking.”

“Our tours finally feel alive online. We stopped competing on price and started attracting the right clients.”
